The Addictions Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana will host our annual Women’s Weekend on January 11-13, 2008 at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center. Our theme is Steps 1-2-3 incorporating the Life Recovery Bible. Both the Old and New Testaments have wonderful stories that are great examples of the steps. Dovie Cranford, Eileen Mitchell and Virginia Blanke will co-facilitate. They have collectively 58 years of recovery in A.A., Al-Anon, A.C.O.A. and Co-Dependency.

We will have Morning Prayer, Compline, 2 combined twelve step meetings, Taize Service, Spiritual Direction, Holy Eucharist. We will also have personal time to reflect, visit, rest and enjoy the grounds.

January is a good time, especially for women, to do something for themselves.  Christmas can be exhausting, with jobs, spouses, children, presents, family dinners, etc. This weekend is a great gift to ask for or give yourself as a Christmas present.

The weekend begins with supper at     6:30 PM on Friday, January 11, 2008.and ends after the Eucharist on Sunday, January 13, about noon.

You may check in on Friday, January 11 after 4:00 PM. However, participants may arrive at the Conference Center as early as
1:00 PM, Friday, January 11, 2008.

The cost of the weekend is $165 per person and includes a room for two nights, Friday night supper, three full meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Sunday lunch is not provided. A $70 non-refundable deposit is required and should be sent along with the attached registration form, no later than, December 28, 2007.

All rooms at the Conference Center are double occupancy. Single rooms may be requested but are not guaranteed. The cost of a single room for the weekend is an additional $44, or a total of $209. Single rooms will not be assigned until after the final registrations are received and the weekend census is known. Single rooms will be assigned on a “first come, first request” basis and no one will be turned away in order to accommodate those who desire a single room.

Please let us know if you have any special dietary needs. Handicap accessible rooms are available.

The Addictions Recovery Ministry (ARM) of the Episcopal Church helps recovering Christians to find a home within the Church. ARM seeks to provide education, guidance and support for families struggling with, or wishing to learn more about addictions. Our desire is not to be dogmatic or exclude anyone in their spiritual search, but to live out the acceptance and love taught by Jesus.
