Dealing With Life on Life's Terms in Difficult Times

How To Calm The Storm

August 6 - 8, 2010

Solomon Episcopal Conference Center
Robert, Louisiana

When life happens – tough economic times, health issues, relationship challenges, job loss, legal problems – even near death experiences - there is a way to deal with it gracefully!  Come and find out how to use a 12 step program of recovery to, “Deal with Life on Life’s Terms” using the “Wonder Key” to live a life in Grace as a Christian in recovery.

Brian Nordwick is an ordained vocational deacon in the Episcopal Church and a Canon to the Ordinary for the Diocese of El Camino Real.  Brian has over 30 years of personal recovery experience and working with others in their recovery process.  He has taught adult education classes on 12 step recovery from a Christian perspective, facilitated and led recovery retreats, and counseled people in recovery one on one in their recovery process.  Brian believes that our lives are complex and busy, so we need to "get away" from the day-to-day stresses and strains of life in the world, and let go of the “outside” so we can be fully present in the moment during this retreat.

The weekend begins with supper at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 6 and ends after the Eucharist on Sunday, August 8 about noon.

You may check in on Friday, August 6 after 3:00 p.m. However, participants may arrive at the Conference Center as early as 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 6.

The cost of the weekend is $152 per person and includes a room for two nights, Friday night supper, three full meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Sunday lunch is not provided. A $75 non-refundable deposit is required and should be sent along with the attached registration form, no later than July 19, 2010.

All rooms at the Conference Center are double occupancy. Single rooms may be requested but are not guaranteed. The cost of a single room for the weekend is an additional $46, or a total of $198. Single rooms will not be assigned until after the final registrations are received and the weekend census is known. Single rooms will be assigned on a “first come, first request” basis and no one will be turned away in order to accommodate those who desire a single room.
