Gratitude
And
The Wonder and Power
Of Gratitude - and
Something Even Better
August 1 - 3, 2008
Solomon Episcopal Conference Center
Robert, Louisiana
One of our most popular meeting topics is gratitude. What is even better than gratitude? During the weekend we will study the wonder and power of gratitude - and something even better!
Fr. Gavin Griffith, our facilitator for the weekend, has been leading retreats full time for 30 years. 2008 marks his 50th year as a priest of the Franciscan Order and his 40th year in recovery. He was featured in Time Magazine for innovative educational methods and practices the healing power of humor and story. He says "I love being a priest, and being a Franciscan is a perfect match for my personality. I don't mind being an alcoholic because it has brought me to the wonderful spiritual world of 12-step recovery.
The weekend begins with supper at 6:30 PM on Friday, August 1 and ends after the Eucharist on Sunday, August 3 about noon.
You may check in on Friday, August 1 after 4:00 PM. However, participants may arrive at the Conference Center as early as 1:00 PM, Friday, August 1, 2008.
The cost of the weekend is $172 per person and includes a room, double occupancy, for two nights, Friday night supper, three full meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Sunday lunch is not provided. A $75 non-refundable deposit is required and should be sent along with the attached registration form, no later than July 20, 2008.
All rooms at the Conference Center are double occupancy. Single rooms may be requested but are not guaranteed. The cost of a single room for the weekend is an additional $44, or a total of $216. Single rooms will not be assigned until after the final registrations are received and the weekend census is known. Single rooms will be assigned on a “first come, first request” basis and no one will be turned away in order to accommodate those who desire a single room.
Please let us know if you have any special dietary needs. Handicap accessible rooms are available.

The Addictions Recovery Ministry (ARM) of the Episcopal Church helps recovering Christians find a home within the Church. ARM seeks to provide education, guidance, and support for families struggling with, or wishing to learn more about addiction. Our desire is not to be dogmatic or exclude anyone in their spiritual search, but to live out the acceptance and love taught by Jesus.
