Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana
announces
its 23nd Annual Weekend
for men and women who are
or who want to be in recovery

The
Diversity
of Addiction

August 4-6, 2006

Solomon Episcopal Conference Center
Loranger, Louisiana

The Rev. William Terry
Facilitator

Using the theme “The Diversity of Addiction,” Father Terry will facilitate a conversation about the varied nature of addictive behavior, and, in that variety, the many gifts the Lord gives us as we are redeemed in sobriety. The group will journey the way of sorrow in the varied contexts of addiction and come to an appreciation of recovery through the saving work of the living Christ.

The Reverend William Terry (Father Bill) is a native New Orleanian and an ordained Episcopal priest. He currently serves as rector of St. Anna’s Church in New Orleans. Father Bill has been active in inner city youth ministry and is presently involved in post-Katrina ministries – Mission to Musicians and Mobile Medical ministry. He has been in recovery for the past 20 years.

The weekend begins with supper at 6:30 PM on Friday, August 4 and ends after the Eucharist on Sunday, August 6 about noon.

You may check in on Friday, August 4 after 4:00 PM. However, participants may arrive at the Conference Center as early as 1:00 PM, Friday, August 4, 2006.

The cost of the weekend is $150 per person and includes a room, double occupancy, for two nights, Friday night supper, three full meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Sunday lunch is not provided. A $75 non-refundable deposit is required and should be sent along with the attached registration form, no later than July 21, 2006.

All rooms at the Conference Center are double occupancy. Single rooms may be requested but are not guaranteed. The cost of a single room for the weekend is an additional $30, or a total of $180. Single rooms will not be assigned until after the final registrations are received and the weekend census is known. The Addictions Recovery Ministry (ARM) of the Episcopal Church helps recovering Christians find a home within the Church. ARM seeks to provide education, guidance, and support for families struggling with, or wishing to learn more about addiction. Our desire is not to be dogmatic or exclude anyone in their spiritual search, but to live out the acceptance and love taught by Jesus.
