The Addictions Recovery Ministry of the Diocese of Louisiana announces its 22nd annual weekend for women and men who are or wish to be in recovery. The weekend will take place at the Conference Center in Loranger, Louisiana, August 5-7, 2005.
The theme of the weekend will be exploring sobriety as dying to an old life, the old person, and embracing a new life, the Resurrected Person. The journey of the dying entering recovery travels along a path marked by tasks of acceptance, courage, love, connection, and charity, and finally the embrace of Ultimate Change. Participants will consider this view of the journey in short talks, discussions, and meditations.
Father Legge, the facilitator for the weekend, is an Episcopal priest and is presently Vicar at All Saints Church, Cameron, Texas. He is a lecturer and retreat leader on issues of addiction, recovery, spirituality, aging, death and dying. He is an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1971.
The weekend begins with supper at 6:30 PM on Friday, August 5 and ends after the Eucharist on Sunday, August 7 about noon.
You may check in on Friday, August 5 after 4:00 PM. However, participants may arrive at the Conference Center as early as 1:00 PM, Friday, August 5, 2005.
The cost of the weekend is $140 per person and includes a room, double occupancy, for two nights, Friday night supper, three full meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Sunday lunch is not provided. A $70 non-refundable deposit is required and should be sent along with the attached registration form, no later than July 22, 2005.
All rooms at the Conference Center are double occupancy. Single rooms may be requested but are not guaranteed. The cost of a single room for the weekend is an additional $40, or a total of $180. Single rooms will not be assigned until after the final registrations are received and the weekend census is known. Single rooms will be assigned on a “first come, first request” basis and no one will be turned away in order to accommodate those who desire a single room.
Please let us know if you have any special dietary needs. Handicap accessible rooms are available.

ARM seeks to provide education, guidance, and support for families struggling with, or wishing to learn more about addiction. Our desire is not to be dogmatic or exclude anyone in their spiritual search, but to live out the acceptance and love taught by Jesus.
