The Addictions Recovery Ministry of the Diocese of Louisiana announces its 20th annual weekend for women and men who are or wish to be in recovery. The weekend will take place at the Conference Center in Robert, Louisiana, August 1-3, 2003.
During the weekend we will explore the Book of Joshua, and specifically Joshua as a model of faith in action. Where am I headed in recovery? What is my recovery plan? We will focus on 5 aspects of Joshua's life as they relate to the 12-Steps of recovery:

>> Pay Attention
>> Commit for the long haul
>> Fess up
>> Risk faithfully
Our facilitator for the weekend is the Rev. James V. Liberatore, Rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Pearland, Texas. Jim has been an Episcopal priest for 17 years. Prior to seminary, he was in oil, chemical and mining construction management and is a professional engineer.
Jim has been a spiritual advisor for Cursillo, Happening and YES weekends and started a Celebrate Recovery group at his home church. He also served as a hospital chaplain and has been in recovery from alcohol and other compulsive behaviors since 1987.
The weekend will begin with supper at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, August 1st and will end after the Eucharist on Sunday (Sunday lunch will not be provided). The cost is $130. A $65 non-refundable deposit is required and should be sent along with the attached registration form, no later than July 20, 2003 to:

All rooms are double occupancy. If you wish, you may request a single room, but they will be assigned only after final registrations are received. Single rooms will cost an additional $30, for a weekend total of $160. Single rooms will be assigned on a first come first request basis after the final weekend census is known. We will not turn away anyone who wants to come in order to accommodate those who desire a single room. Please specify any special dietary needs you may have and handicap accessible rooms are available.

The actual breakeven cost of the Mixed Weekend in August, 2003 is $130 per person. If you are able to pay more than $130 for this weekend, the additional contribution would be appreciated.

The Addictions Recovery Ministry (ARM) of the Episcopal Church helps recovering Christians find a home within the Church. ARM seeks to provide education, guidance and support for families struggling with, or wishing to learn more about addiction.
