Peace and Promises
Gathering the Gifts of Twelve Step Living
ARM-- Addictions Recovery Ministry
The Addictions Recovery Ministry of the Diocese of Louisiana announces its 19th annual weekend for women and men who are or wish to be in recovery. The weekend will take place at the Conference Center in Robert, Louisiana, August 2-4, 2002.

During the weekend we will explore the promises of recovery based on The Big Book. We will focus on a spiritual program of action and the choices we make each day as we all experience the miracles of "a new freedom" and "a new happiness" and serenity and peace. There will be whole group conferences, small group discussions, time for meditation, private conferences and good fellowship along with community worship and Twelve Step meetings for everyone.

Cindi Lanza, our facilitator for the weekend, is a Board Certified Social Worker and Board Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. She has over ten years experience working in the substance abuse field. She was former clinical coordinator for the family program at Bowling Green Hospital, a hospital specializing in psychiatric and chemical dependency care. She also designed and facilitated the outpatient family counseling program for Greenbriar Hospital's substance abuse program. Cindi is a workshop presenter and a speaker for professional organizations and groups. She is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Cindi is also deeply involved in her own personal recovery program.

The weekend will begin with supper at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, August 2nd and will end after the Eucharist on Sunday (Sunday lunch will not be provided). The cost is $130. A $65 non-refundable deposit is required and should be sent along with the attached registration form, no later than July 20, 2001 to:

The Addictions Recovery Ministry (ARM) of the Episcopal Church helps recovering Christians find a home within the Church. ARM seeks to provide education, guidance and support for families struggling with, or wishing to learn more about addiction. Our desire is not to be dogmatic or exclude anyone in their spiritual search, but to live out the acceptance and love taught by Jesus.
A scholarship fund has been established in loving memory of our friends, Brother James Mark Eddy and The Rev. Daryl Canfill. With recovery came new life for Br. James and Fr. Daryl Canfill who, in finding God, found themselves and who were not only an inspiration but sweet and loving friends to us all. Those in need of a scholarship up to 50% of the cost of a double occupancy room, may contact Mary Ferry, at 504.455.7984.
